Information about Drug Addiction Rehab
Addiction is a complicated and many-faceted problem to cope with. At the Sundance Center, we know that not one mode of healing should be used to treat every person’s addiction. It has been verified by research that there is no single method that is more successful than any other. Because of this, the processes we use at Sundance are tailored to each resident. We are determined to discover what works best on a case-by-case basis. We would not use the exact same therapy in hopes that it will produce the same results for every person.
Features of Healing
The supreme objective of treatment at Journey is to aid and guide an individual so that they are able to stop their addictive behaviors. We are dedicated to helping each individual break their habit, and be able to maintain that lifestyle when they are no longer in our care.
Through our various forms of therapy, we believe that an addiction-free life is highly possible for everyone. We offer individual therapy sessions, group therapy sessions, and therapeutic activities that work together to create the healing foundation our residents are looking for. The supplemental therapeutic activities we offer are things such as nature-walks, hiking, painting, yoga, massage therapy and Life Rhythms Drumming among many others. These activities provide added therapy as well as give our residents ideas and skills that they can use outside the facility to help them continue their success.
We take pride in customizing each program to fit the specific requirements of each person who enters Sundance. Upon coming to our center, everyone will be met by professional and caring counselors who will begin to determine what processes would work best for each person. They will then implement the plan and evaluate the effectiveness of it every step of the way. Depending on the progress that they see, they will either continue with the same plan put into play at the beginning of the resident’s stay, or alter it to better fit the needs of that particular person. Our dual diagnosis processes works to resolve the patient’s addictions as well as address those issues that arise because of the addiction. Because this process has much variability, it is imperative that each process be tailored to each individual.
Duration of Treatment
At Journey Healing Centers we have a minimum of a 30-day stay. The Journey Centers provide a warm, comfortable atmosphere in which each of our residents can feel safe and away from other worldly influences. Extended care is also available, and some of our residents like to stay on up to 60 days at our facilities. In Extended Care an individual’s healing will continue along with intense coping strategies. After care is also readily available. All of Journey’s former clients are always welcome to come to any of our therapy sessions should they feel the need.
For the added benefit of everyone involved, Journey’s philosophies in treatment also include the family of the addicted person. We like to make sure that families understand addiction and the effects. Because addiction can alter brain functions, many of the alterations still occur in the brain long after the addiction has ceased. We feel it is important to educate the families about this so that they can continue to show their support and comfort to their loved ones after they leave our facilities.
One-on-one counseling is offered to provide a more individualized session of therapy. This will allow the focus to be solely on that person. Group therapy session also give a different modality of healing by helping each person come to the realization that they are not alone in their struggles. Through these therapies, our patients will be able to get the support of the counselors as well as their peers. They will be able to celebrate one another’s victories and see examples of behaviors all while learning more about themselves and their addiction.
