Holistic Healing
Our programs are designed to use a myriad of methodologies that address the wellbeing of the body, soul and spirit of our residents. We understand that for a program to be a success, that it must be tailored to meet the specific problems and concerns of the individual client.
Journey focuses on teaching individuals to take responsibility and accountability for their actions and choices by providing a consistent approach to behaviors and consequences. Journey also provides the tools they need to develop a new self-image, initiate and enjoy positive life changes, and stay sober. The Journey staff and clients work together as a team at all times. Staff will always model appropriate professional, ethical and social behaviors. At the Journey facilities we offer individual treatment planning empowered by a symbiotic group residential environment. Some of the Journey centers are a co-ed facility, allowing clients to work on family and relationship issues which frequently hold core issues surrounding a client’s chemical dependency. In this safe environment, clients are encouraged to: Risk, Trust, Feel and Share.
Journey’s program goals are to provide a safe and nurturing environment where individuals can become aware of the behavioral health issues that foster chemical dependency, exasperate co-morbid behavioral health disorders and create cognitive reasoning problems. Our goal is to offer the best possible treatment for individuals suffering from the serious emotional, psychological and physical problems associated with chemical dependency. The first stage of recovery is awareness. This is where the clients have the opportunity to become aware of the behaviors and beliefs systems that have perpetuated the chemical dependency and behavioral health problems associated with substance abuse. The next stage of recovery is transformation. This is where the clients begin to change the negative behaviors and distorted cognitive programming that created the need to use drugs, alcohol and other addictive behaviors to self medicate. The Journey program offers an intense educational program, which teaches how behavioral health problems associated with chemical dependency effects the interpersonal dynamics of the family.
We also identify the present family system and work toward breaking through the defense mechanism that have supported or enabled the destructive behaviors of the individual suffering from addiction. Family programming also encourages the expression of the painful emotions or feelings that may have been avoided or medicated in the past. Effective communication is emphasized and the resolution of past anger and resentment give way to hope and positive support for building an honest and open relationship within a family or partnership. Journey offers an honest holistic approach to treating the chemically dependent, dual diagnosis person.
